The agency briefing and why it is crucial

The briefing with your agency is the first and most important step for your project. This is because the briefing provides the agency with information about the initial situation, expectations and goals. This enables the agency to clearly identify your wishes and provide you with targeted and effective support. However, you should remember to leave the agency a certain amount of creative leeway.

For agencies, every project starts with a briefing. So if you have already thought about your project in advance and perhaps even defined the rough cornerstones, this is an effective way to quickly develop concrete measures for your project together with the agency.

How do I move forward?
Starting a new project is exciting, of course. You want to get started right away. But the very first step should be to report on your company. That way, the agency staff can quickly get a feel for your concerns and your company and work out the best solutions on this basis. What are your values, how do you talk to your (potential) customers, why and how do you want to tackle this project? Also, tell us about your project - in as much detail as possible.
These are all important things for further work on the project.

If you show your agency exactly what you and your company stand for, they can prepare this information optimally for the various media channels and forward it to the right target groups.
Of course, this also depends on whether you are working together for the first time or whether you have worked on projects together before.
In order to put together a suitable package of measures, your agency needs a a clear schedule and a fixed financial framework. This allows you and the agency to plan better. If you are planning a product launch, for example, the target date should be included in the briefing so that the agency can optimally allocate the relevant resources and plan the necessary steps accordingly.

Here is a short checklist for your optimal briefing:

Basics

  • What do do I want?

  • How do do I want that? Or do I already have some initial ideas?

  • Where would you like to present, publish or distribute your project?

  • What is the Benefit of it?

Your values

  • Which Values do I and/or my company convey?

  • How do I address my (potential) customers? (Tone of voicetonality)

Your goals

  • What are my Expectations from this project?

  • Why do I want to carry this out?

  • Who do I want to reach? (target group)

  • What do do I want to say or achieve?

Dates, deadlines & budget

  • What is my Schedule?

  • When is the Deadline?

  • What is the Budget have I calculated for the project?

With these points in mind, proposals for solutions, drafts and measures are created quickly and efficiently - the perfect basis for the start of your project! Because everyone knows what needs to be done, how and by when. Nothing stands in the way of a successful project start!
