New web presence
A new, completely revised design was needed to represent MEHLER in a new style.
Efficient and fast
By using Nuxt 3 as a web framework in combination with the headless content management system Storyblok, the result was consistent, fast and flexible for future adaptations.
Over 11.000 online products
A new online shop/catalogue has been launched on the new website with over 11,000 products that were previously only available in a printed catalogue.
Over 1 Mio. individual configurations
Almost all of the approximately 11,000 products can be individually configured online and added to the shopping basket.
Automation is key
The products are stored in an ERP system. Thanks to various adaptations and automations, products are now automatically loaded into the catalogue and always kept up to date.
Multilingual Content
Of course, the new website is also intended for a global market, and with Storyblok multi-lingual content is not a problem - it's fun.
About
MEHLER Elektrotechnik Ges.m.b.H. has been founded 60 years ago and has its headquarters in Wolfern near Steyr. They are the right partner for the production of all high- and low-current switch cabinets as well as special constructions.
The production focus is on the manufacture of:
Meter distribution boards for all energy supply companies in Austria
control cabinets for industry and mechanical engineering
construction site power distribution boards
IT data transmission cabinets
special enclosures and intelligent charging facilities for electric vehicles.
The Client
We solved
The redesigned website of Mehler Elektrotechnik Ges.m.b.H from Wolfern, Upper Austria presents itself as an innovative platform that impresses with its outstanding online catalog for control cabinets. The main task of this project was to create a user-friendly and efficient solution that allows users to individually configure control cabinets in addition to a new website.
To do this, over 11,000 products had to be automatically parsed from the ERP system and loaded into the catalog. A catalog or store without a user system would not work, so the catalog was also given store functionalities such as a shopping cart, user-defined discounts and the option of requesting the contents of the shopping cart or generating a PDF from it.
Each article also has specific details that are constantly updated - so it was important that article data sheets are always up to date.

The solution was pretty clear. The new website including the online catalog was implemented in Nuxt 3 as a front-end framework and linked to Storyblok as a content management system so that the content editors at MEHLER can edit the content at any time without worrying about guidelines or ruining the layout.
Part of the task was also to make the site multilingual, which was of course no problem in this setup with Storyblok.
To synchronize over 11.000 available products, an API connection with the ERP system had to be programmed for the catalog itself. To maintain performance on the web, products are continuously updated in the background when necessary. With this approach, the user has no long loading times and can configure his products quickly and easily.
